COURSE ITINERARY and cost
3 DAY COURSE: "MOULAGE -The Art of Injury Simulation"
A three-day intensive, hands-on training course-- See itinerary below:

Tuition / enrollment fee:
$775.00 per student without the TLSMEK (Trauma Life Support Moulage Essentials Kit) and
$935.00 per student WITH TLSMEK. (special class price save $35 on kit)
(You'll take this kit home, not used in class.)
-Everything you need to know to add the realism your responders need, to retain disaster drill training. You will be physically working on and with the student next to you in the class to get practice working on a moulage simulator/roll player.
Each student will receive illustrated reference materials, a Certificate of Achievement,
and will keep all of the simulations they create during the course.

Class starts at 9:00 am and will flow with the learning pace of the students attending.
Lunch and at least two breaks scheduled, as necessary. Occasionally, classes will let out earlier than 5:00 pm.
Agenda subject to change per individual class needs. Each section of techniques will build from the previous skills learned in each section.
Student must attend Day One in order to understand Day two and so forth.
DAY ONE:
Introduction to moulage materials and tools, makeup moulage and Gelefects.
Using the crème based makeups.

DAY ONE:
Introduction to moulage materials and tools, makeup moulage and Gelefects.
Using the crème based makeups.
- Slideshow Real Vs. Fake
- Bruising/Contusions: Fresh and aged
- Hematomas
- Racoon eyes / black eyes, Battles sign
- Shock – grey or white
- Scratches Minor superficial wounds using stage blood and caramel color
- Clean/dirty superficial abrasion
- Stage blood superficial lacerations clean/dirty
Gelefects wounds (3D)
- Working with effects gel/gelefects - properties, melting temp, storage, etc
- Palette knife “anatomy” (front vs back and why)
- “Sheeting and Stranding”
- Apply Skin Piece; Piping Skin edge for blending to skin, practice
- Apply pre-made wound piece
- Application of makeup to match skin tone (if necessary); tricks and techniques. "Setting" the makeup.
- Removal of wound piece including preservation for future use
- Gelefects 3-D laceration (“suicide” and other “flap type shallow cut”)
- Split lip/nose/earlobe simulation
- Importance of skin edge. Create a skin piece for future wounds
DAY TWO:
Soft-tissue wounds Using Effects Gel/gelefects:
“On-The-Body” Wounds Continued :
- Create rashes for any skin irritant simulation (Note similarities with friction burn
Burns:
- Create 2nd degree burn with blisters, broken and filled.
- Create 3rd degree/full thickness thermal and chemical burn w/ & w/o charring
- Introduce Airbrush system, demonstrate Airbrush for 1st Degree burns /”soot”/ shock.
- Create Bones from Sculpey for future wounds
- 3 Layer Deep Abrasion
“Premade” Wounds:
- Fat and muscle tissue, using Effects Gel/gelefects,
- Premade Deep Lacerations,
- Premade gunshot entrance/exit wounds,
- Premade closed fractures (angulation, swelling, hematoma, blood tumor).
DAY THREE:
Advanced Soft Tissue Wounds Using Effects Gel/gelefects:
- Sucking chest wound with demonstration,
- Full thickness avulsion with skin flap.
- Open fractures, large or small.
W M D Simulations:
- Biological -Rash (erythema), smallpox, anthrax, plague, etc.
- Chemical - Vesicants (blistering agents), nerve agents, chemical burns, etc.
- Open Practice for all moulage /open discussion.

- Eye injuries and an avulsion
- Evisceration with bowel loop
- Impaled objects; various.
- Amputation of arm at elbow / leg at knee, discussion & demonstration:
- Create amputation of arm at elbow, partial amputations, using Gelefects.
- Discuss storage, how to use/re-use

Special effects discussion & demos: - Salivation, rhinorrhea, diaphoresis, tearing, emesis, etc..
- Bleeding injuries using blood pumps.
- Mouth and dental trauma, smoke inhalation, and more.
- Open Practice for all moulage / open discussion.
- Any individualized wounds not listed above, for your own particular needs.
Learn how to set up and direct the Moulage portion of your MCI:
- Includes learning skills for setting up the moulage portion of a Disaster exercise using our MCI package examples, Bio-Chem and Pharmaceutical Exercises. This portion of the course is where we focus on YOUR individual needs for how you would incorporate the techniques learned in the above courses by Image Perspectives. Adaptive and Individualized.
